Al Semsam secures passive fire protection project in Singapore

Al Semsam Building Materials, a UAE-based top building materials supplier has achieved yet another milestone in the passive fire protection category. An ESAG Group member, Al Semsam Building Materials has secured a deal to detail and supply materials for fire barrier systems using Durasteel that will address 120 minutes of Jet Fire requirement for Neste’s MR001 refinery expansion project in Singapore.
“This milestone was accomplished in conjunction with our principals and partners, some of whom are based across continents – making this feat a remarkable one,” said an official of Al Semsam. “Once installed, the system will form a barrier providing a safe exit route with a 120-minute fire rating. This will ensure a safe passage for plant operatives in the event of fire hazard and provide ample time for fire-fighters to rescue them and protect the property.”
Detailed review and compliance of specifications, while developing the manufacturer’s system as per the drawings provided required rigorous brainstorming and analysis, he said. With this milestone, Al Semsam Building Materials and ESAG have further expanded their horizons besides reinforcing their global status as leading passive fire protection suppliers for infrastructure projects.
